The rules are simple, write good quality information that people are going to want to read. Write in blogs that have something to do with your niche or blog. Comment quality posts on those blogs to earn a ping back. Leave a link as part of your signature, but as a signature not a blatent kind of ad. Give the host of that blog a way to contact you.
