Thought For The Day
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.”
–Reinhold Niebuhr
I Have Been Thinking
What is it that prevents you from doing those things you know you should be doing? Is it really procrastination? Let me tell you sumpin” procrastination is a symptom. No matter what you do until you find out what it is that let’s you give in to procrastination you will never be able to get it under control. Distractions may be the second reason you give for not getting what you know needs to be done. Distractions like procrastination is a symptom nothing else.
Rejection – The Obvious Reason
When did this one fear get started for you? Gee Whiz! When you were a baby, all you had to do was smile at someone and you had their immediate attention. Babies are just that, they are an attention magnet. When you were in about, let me see kindergarten I imagine, you were put into the position of getting along with others. Getting along wasn’t too bad at this stage, just look at the kids in the sandbox. Most will play together and most will instigate some kind of interaction with other children. Personalities will begin to develop as children are encouraged to “be themselves.”
Unfortunately, many children are stilted in their growth by uncaring parents, people who always tell them no, you can’t do that. Even well meaning people that make others feel bad about themselves. It happens like it or not.
Looking Like An Idiot – What Will Other People Think
As we begin to carry the baggage with us, the second fear rears it’s ugly head. How many times a day do you consciously or even unconsciously think about looking like an idiot? Do you worry about what other people will think?
Personal feelings about who we are and what we are, come from many years of believing the bad stuff. If I do this, what will my mother think? Sometimes this is a good thing. What can you do that will make your mother proud of you? Look to people who have made you feel good about yourself. Look to the actions you have taken in your life that have made you feel good about yourself. Look at your successes from the viewpoint of feelings and emotions rather than what you did.
When you begin looking at past feelings and emotions that come from successes even small successes, you will find the emotions you need that helped you get done exactly what you set out to do. Learn to reach for those good and strong emotions you have inside you to make every day special. One of the things I do is create a to-do list each and every day. I mark my to-do list with ___DONE_ as I get each of the actions completed. At the end of the day, I look at all the red dones and feel good about my day. It’s a little thing that gives me a big boost of confidence. I would love to hear about the little things you do.
Success – If I Learn How To Do This…
Believe it or not, more people are afraid of success than they are of failure. With failure, the justification process begins. There are all kinds of reasons why things did not go right. It is easy to blame others or just say something like, “I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.” We have an excuse. We have a way out. We have a reason to quit.
But, what about success? When we succeed at something, we are immediately accountable for something or to someone. If we did something one day, we are expected to do it again and again.

Argument Rules
Any argument that a man and a woman are involved in, the
woman gets the last word.
Anything a man says afterwords is the beginning of a new

Grandma Wisdom
Whatever the reason or excuse you have been putting up a as a brick wall for all of your life, if you want your business to work for you, then you cannot get around the fact that your business requires that you DO certain actions that will help lead you up the right path. There is only one way to do it, and that is to do it. It took a lot of work to build the brick wall, but all it takes is a good sledge hammer to knock it down. That hammer exists in all of us we just need to use it.
