America Is Still Alive

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. – author unknown Whomever he is, he said a mouth full.

I think opportunity is the most powerful word in the language. But, in many very important respects, American opportunity is in trouble. Yes, the economy is very fragile, but people are not. But people are different. What has happened to the American economy is the result of decision. At one time this country was run by men that were not afraid to believe in God and say so. This country was built on the backs of immigrants that came by the boatloads. They were looking for the opportunity that the new world was extending to them. They knew it would take work, sacrifice and determinism.

An Internet home business opportunity is a great way to earn extra money, or even start a full-time business if you wish. The perfect work at home business opportunity is something different for everyone.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the same kind of people with the grit and determination of our forefathers. I dare say that I am going to step on some toes this morning, but sometime I get so tired of empty promises, hype and out and out lies.

In the 60s more and more responsibility was taken away from parents. Schools were given the responsibility to raise them. Oh be careful, you heard you might do or say something that will hurt them emotionally for the rest of their lives. Now when children get it trouble, who’s fault is it? The parents? Years ago a woman was someone special. Manners have become a thing of the past. Respect – many people don’t even know the meaning.

We live in a world where road rage is commonplace and life moves so fast that you meet yourself coming and going. It’s no wonder there is an increase in heart problems among women and childhood obesity is the norm.

What happened to an America that said, “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” What happened to an America that took care of it’s Veterans to make sure they got the training they needed when they came home? What happened to the America that said, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free; send these, the homeless tempest-tossed, to me; I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” inscribed on the base of Lady Liberty.

I believe that America is still alive.

Ice Breakers

Bless This Car

A rabbi, a priest and a minister have their houses of worship side by side, so they decide to carpool.

On the first day, the other two are shocked to see the pastor lay hands on the hood and pray silently.

“What are you doing?” the priest asks.

The pastor looks up. “I’m just dedicating the car to the Lord’s service.”

“Good idea! Be right back!” the priest exclaims, running into his church. He emerges with a bulb on a short stick, shaking water out of it onto the car.

The rabbi stares. “What are you doing?” he says.

“I’m consecrating it with holy water,” the priest replies.

“Great idea!” the rabbi says, and runs into his synagogue’s tool shed. He emerges with a hacksaw and takes off an inch of the tailpipe.

“The world is not yet exhausted; let me see something tomorrow which I never saw before.”

Tips and Techniques

Open your eyes to the opportunity around you then get moving. Life is for living, not for sitting around bellyaching. Take this economical bull by the horns, get the momentum up and let it fly. We were meant to fly with eagles, not to waddle with the turkeys.

Happy designing!
