I Have Been Thinking

The current news certainly should make us all very grateful for our fortune.

I continue to marvel that in spite of everything, in spite of the difficulties and arguments over politics we still can come together as a nation, as a world, as a people to come to the aide of people affected by so much destruction.

It is still very humbeling that even with all of our technology and the advances made up to this 21st century that we still have no control over the weather or  the natural catastrophe’s that occur on our planet. As I watched tonight I couldn’t stop the tears. We can send money through the red cross. We can send money through Feed The Children, but it is ever enough?  Can medical care get to those who need it the most? With no basic resources like electricity the people don’t even know what help is coming.

There is always a logistical process that must take place and they must take place very quickly.

We have things happen in life that remind us how human and how vulenerable we really are. Pray for the people in Haiti and I am going ot make an appeal that you will help in any way that you can. Pray for those that are working so hard to get supplies, food and water inland to those people. The more they go without food and water,  the more critical the problem will become. As Bryan Williams said, “without food and water getting to the people frustration will lead to riot.”

To which the priest replied, “Well, that wasn’t very charitable, but I wouldn’t say it’s a sin.”

“Then, Father, may I ask your opinion of something?”

“Of course,” said the priest.

“Should I tell him the war is over?”
