Anyway, I always thought critical thinking skills were the fundamental, and people skills grew out of those. However, I have found over the years that fully supported coaching and a people skills service along with coaching needs analysis, coaching audit nd support, and the design and development of supportive people skills training cannot be underestimated. Many people get into a direct sales kind of business then fail horribly because they just don’t know what to say or how to say it. Even when given a script to follow, they flub because they just don’t know how it is delivered.

If you think that at the core of every labor dispute is a lack of people skills. Whether it is government services, retail businesses, schools, churches or social clubs, all enterprises rely on good people skills.

Applied consistently, real people skills will help you and your business improve relationships and performance. Without strong people skills, it is better that we have less science and technology because it is unwise to give knowledge to fools.

During a practical exercise at a military police base, the instructor was giving the class instruction in unarmed self- defense.

After he presented a number of different situations in which they might find themselves, he asked a student, “What steps would you take if someone were coming at you with a large, sharp knife?”

The student replied, “BIG ones.”

Before beginning any course of study, decide that you want to get ______ out of it. Read through the materials, or watch the video, or listen to the recording the first time for general understanding. The go through it again, stop and think about it’s pieces and parts. Finally on the third time through decide which of the pieces and parts you can put to use. It is only when you can use the information that it becomes valuable to you.
