Thought For The Day
“ At first dreams seem impossible, then improbable, then inevitable.”
- Christopher Reeve
(1952-2004) American Actor
I Have Been Thinking
Do you have a very specific vision for your future? Most people think that goal setting is dull, not fun or a complete waste of time. Personally, I feel it is as vital to have goals as it is to breath, sleep or eat.
More important, think about it breathing just happens until you catch a cold or get pneumonia, have bronchitis or any other ailment that affects breathing. Having goals is just as natural. You may not be conscious of them or they may be golsl set for you by others. They are natural until affected by confusion. Confusion is an ailment that can be compared to the body getting a cold.
When you get a cold, you feel bad all over. You are achey and sometimes run a fever. What do you do? Well, most of us take an aspirin or it’s equivalent, then if possible get some rest. What do you do when you hit a confusion? There are solutions. The solutions can be found by reviewing your goals, the purpose for your goals and of course your personal vision for your future.
Sleeping too is perfectly natural. It is something you should do for at least eight hours. Eight unbroken hours would be nice too. Often sleep is disturbed by worry, illness or the body just wanting to do what the body does. In business we have processes that are done day in and day out. They have to be done or we won’t be long in business. Some of them include opening the doors, closing at the end of the day, answering the phone, promoting our business and many many more. Even these processes can be disturbed Knowing exactly how they are supposed to work and being able to debug the process can keep them working correctly.
Eating! Do you eat to live or live to eat? In business we do both. Eating means taking in nourishment both the keep the body healthy and also to satifsy cravings. Most of us like what we like and don’t like trying new things..
Self improvement is a process of healing our lives, cleaning out the toxic attitudes and beliefs, mending that which was broken, restoring that which you should be. You can fill your head with unrealistic ideas and pretend to enjoy life. You could become a conformist and just go with the flow. Or, you can decide who you are, what you want to do with your life and exactly what you are going to do to get there.
You can heal your body of disease by putting a label on what is going on. Once you label it, you can find out exactly what to do. Finally you just have to do the actions to heal your body of the named disease.
Put a label on the goal. Give it a name, but more important see it, feel it, experience how it will feel to actually accomplish it. When you can do this you will be able to break it down into action. Actions can be put into a specific sequence like a road map.
You and only you are responsible for the mess or for the success that you have made out of your life. Change it if you don’t like it with real goals that you can believe.

Dad at the Supermarket
My father was completely lost in the kitchen and never ate
unless someone prepared a meal for him. When Mother was ill,
however, he volunteered to go to the supermarket for her.
She sent him off with a carefully numbered list of seven
items.
Dad returned shortly, very proud of himself, and proceeded
to unpack the grocery bags. He had one bag of sugar, two
dozen eggs, three hams, four boxes of detergent, five boxes
of crackers, six eggplants, and seven green peppers.
