Success Habit #5 You Are Known By…

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking
Surround yourself with success.

You are a direct reflection of the people you surround
yourself with, so surround yourself with smart, successful
people.

I only hired those that I felt were better or had the
potential to be a better leader than I was. By surrounding
myself with great people, my standards were raised.

Surround yourself with lesser people, and you lower your
standards.

When I was younger, my best friend’s father, a very successful
man, gave my best friend and I the following advice:

“I want you to hang out with the smart kids. Because
when you hang out with smart kids, you tend to act smart. If
you hang out with dumb kids, you tend to do dumb things.”

Much later I heard, “decide what you want to be, then act as you already are.” I also heard, “fake it till you make it.” Which is a far cry from the previous statement. We can truly be that person inside us that we should be.

There is another statement I would like you to think about… “Our greatest fear is not that we will fail but that we have it within us the ability to succeed.”

Grace says: Barb’s granddaughter is in kindergarten.
There was a boy in her class that wasn’t listening to the teacher.

The teacher said to him, “Since you don’t want to listen, you sit at that table by yourself.”

After a few minutes, Barb’s granddaughter raised her hand and said, “I don’t want to listen either. Can I sit with him?”

Thought for Today:
“Shall we make a new rule of life from tonight: always try to be a little kinder than is necessary?”
