What makes a good mentor? This is a question that I will be taking up soon in a conference to be held in the Women’s Online Network. There was a line in one of the Karate Kid films where Mr Myeage said, “when you are ready for the teacher, he will appear.” A mentor is someone you will look for and suddenly the right person will appear. The Bible says, “ask and you shall receive, knock and it will be opened for you!” When you are looking for answers please don’t question from whence the answers come. Fear and doubts are like the wind, they may blow you in any direction. In his Simple-ology program Mark covers these points even to greater depth than I can in the scope of this newsletter, but his teaching and tactics are certainly things that I employ in my business.

The prospect of designing a web site may be intimidating if you haven’t done it before. But just remember that it really boils down to a simple principle: “effective visual communication that conveys a particular message.” Plan you page’s message first in words, then find or create the graphics that convey that message. Next determine the audience you want to reach with that message and think about how your graphics can best communicate what you want to say.

How do you identify your target market? Can you describe the individual? This is key so I will repeat “Can you describe the individual?” Remember you are talking to that one person who is looking at your site or reading your content.
