I Have Been Thinking

One of the first person I met on our trip was Dolly’s uncle. What an inspiration! At 91 he is still alert, spry and living fully every day. He still drives and is very attentive to his wife of 46 years. They were funny to listen to but very, very interesting.

Do you have older friends and family? Have you taken the time to write down some of their stories? I can remember a good many of the things my grandparents told me but so much just gets lost as one grows older. Family history and how your family history fits in with world history is such an important value for your future family. When children ask, “where did I come from?” I believe they are asking for this history. I know my grandchildren love it when I sit down with them with their albums and tell them the stories behind many of the pictures.
