Shake It Up

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

I hear from a lot of people at various junctures along the road to right livelihood. Some are at the very beginning, still trying to figure out which path is right for them. Others have happily reached their destination. Others are midway on their journey.

Regardless of where you are in the process, there are five keys to changing course:

1. Set goals big and small if you’re really serious about taking control of your life, you need to set some goals for yourself. Knowing that you want to change your life or to work for yourself is a great start. But expressing a desire is different than stating a goal

2. Figure out what it will take to reach your goal happen and just start doing it

3. Live life – now.

4. Sometimes living life means to shake up the normal routine and do something out of the ordinary

5. Learn something every day. I dont mean read about it. I dont mean listen to another conference or tape. I do mean learn something by putting it into action.

Ice Breakers

Old Dog, New Trick!

An old, tired-looking dog wandered into the yard. I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home.

He followed me into the house, down the hall, and fell asleep in a corner. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back, resumed his position in the hall, and slept for an hour. This continued for several days.

Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: “Every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.”

The next day he arrived with a different note pinned to his collar: “He lives in a home with ten children –

He’s trying to catch up on his sleep.

Can I come with him tomorrow?”

Thought for Today:

One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.” Abraham Maslow 1908-1970, Psychologist

Tips and Techniques

Q I like to add a calendar of events (training classes offered over the next 12 months) to my website. I’ve been looking for a tool or component in Fusion 10 which could do this easily, but have not succeeded. I like a simple overview of all events in a calendar view, with web links for the day’s where an event is held, so that the user can click on it and get details and sign-up info. Has anyone done something like this and if so what tools have you used?

A I have never found one within NOF, but I started using Easy PHP from http://www.easyphpcalendar.com/ It is inexpensive, easy to install and a great way to post activities, classes and events. See a working copy at http://www.iswinning4u.com/calendar.

Happy designing!
