The Opener

Good Morning!
I Have Been Thinking

The Opener

What makes you feel warm and welcome when you walk into someone’s home? What makes you feel that a business is the place you want to shop the first time you enter their front door?

Think about these two questions the next time you are preparing an opening for any presentation.

You might use a quote. I use one every day when I write to you. It could be a rhetorical question. Sometimes it is that question that gets folks to open your email. It could be an emphatic statement said or written with a lot of conviction. It could be a word picture that gets people to see and feel what you want them to see or feel. Often humor is used as an opening. The response you want to trigger is one of interest, excitement and mystery. Create the mystery in your opener to motivate you audience to want to know more.
